Phew
The Yankees needed that one. Switching to Hughes and bringing Rivera in for a four-out save showed that they were going "all in" for this game. If they had lost it, which they almost did, it would have been a disaster. But, they didn't and now the magic number is down to 1.
The next six games will be fascinating with the Yankees a 1/2 game behind Tampa. Will they finally realize that the division matters and put the pedal to the metal to get that crown? Hopefully, but it remains to be seen.
Until tomorrow, enjoy this one Yankees' fans.

BWPS, just light teasing, I thought Vazquez was going to be a #2 this year as in #2 starter not a bm. I'd bet huge that its not personal, I've had a few that didn't get posted over the years (and Peter was overly apologetic about it) altho lately it hasn't happened.

Hi Tim..If you look at just #s it was a super trade..for me it was as long as melky was gone it 's worth it..and i wish melky all the best..but not on the yanks.. i wanted to see ajax and gardner in the outfield..like Peter said, which i tip the hat to,#s don't give you a complete picture..i like trends and #s ,but there is X factor. this trade would not have hurt this bad if AJ was 15 and 10..not the other way around.. those two alone crippled our pen..and we had to live with gaudin, mosley ,mitre..the other guy i did not like was park..no way i would have signed that bum.. javy at one point was pitching good out of the pen...but no girardi had to experiment again.. i don't blame javy.. if joe is a sane human being, four guys never see the first round..javy mosley, gaudin, mitre.. AJ goes to the pen..he don't like it, quit..even his wife is fed up with him..nova gets four spot. again Tim I yield to your for sight with swisher, i am very happy to be wrong about him this year..
