Game Six Is The Key

I fully expect the Yankees to get to the World Series this weekend.  There I said it, but when you have Andy Pettitte and C.C. Sabathia both ready to go on full rest, at home and you only need 1 win, I don't think I am taking a making waves.  But, the timing of victory is very important when you think of what lies ahead.

If the Yankees win Game 6, they can line up their pitching exactly as they have in the first two playoff series.  But, if they lose- or the game is rained out- then the pitching choices become interesting.  If they have to use Sabathia in Game 7 of the ALCS, then A.J. Burnett gets the ball in Game 1 of the World Series.

You would then have to chose between Sabathia on short rest or Pettitte on full rest in Game 2 with the other guy going in Game 3.

What would you do in Game 4 then?  Your choices are Burnett on short rest or Gaudin.  And if you choose Gaudin you probably bring Burnett back on full rest in Game 5, but that's at Philly where you won't have the DH.  Do you really want Molina and the pitcher hitting?  That would leave you with C.C. and Andy in Games 6+7, but maybe you don't get to those games.

And that's why a win tomorrow is vital.
