This makes things very interesting tomorrow night. Do you start Sabathia on full rest, knowing that doing so means he would have to start Game 1 of the World Series on short rest? Or do you pitch Pettitte, knowing if you lose that you would use Sabathia in Game 7 on Monday and not have him until Game 3 of the World Series?
It's a brutal choice. A loss tomorrow with Pettitte means a World Series rotation like this:

Game 2- Pettitte (on short rest) or Gaudin
Game 3- Sabathia
Game 4- Gaudin or AJ on short rest
Game 5- Pettitte on short rest or AJ
Game 6- Sabathia or Pettitte
Game 7- Sabathia or Pettitte
That's ugly. If you pitched Sabathia tomorrow night, even if he lost you could setup a World Series rotation like this.

Game 3- Pettitte
Game 4- Gaudin or AJ on short rest (bet on Gaudin)
Game 5- Sabathia on short rest or AJ (bet on AJ)

Game 7- Pettitte
Seems to me like the best choice is go for the knockout with Sabathia, but you could sway me either way.
Bottom line is that the rain out is a HUGE disadvantage to the Yankees. Besides all of this, Lackey becomes an option now for the Angels in Game 7.
