Tuesday Trivia
Ok, new feature here at YR.com, Tuesday Trivia. Each week I will post a baseball question and give you 24 hours to answer in the comments. Sometimes they will be Yankees related (like this week) but not always.
Anyway, here is the first question:
How many former Rookies of the Year have played for the Yankees in 2009? As a bonus, name them.

My guess is 3:
Jeter and Berroa were tagged as "wunderkind" when they came on the scene and I'm also guessing that Hinske was a hot guy as well when he hit the bigs.

By the way, YR.com is actually the website for Young and Rubicam, the Advert folks...

You are both right. As a bonus question- who did Berroa beat when he won the ROY and what was the reason given by some voters?

OK, if I remember the years correctly, I remember that this was somehow a Steinbrenner Issue. George wanted Hideki to win it - but Hideki was tagged by some to be "not eligible" cause he wasn't a "true rookie". Yep, this was good for a few NY POST headlines as I recall.

You nailed it Mitchell. Some voters decided that Matsui wasn't a rookie which was off because Ichiro had won the award in 2001.
