Interesting Take
Thought I would share this piece I found in the Toronto papers about the potential trade of Ray Halliday.
I would imagine Toronto would ask the Yankees for Hughes, Jackson, Montero and someone else in exchange for Halladay and that is way too high a price in my mind.
But, you never know how these talks will progress. Considering the state of the economy, teams that normally would bid on Halladay may be scared off. The Blue Jays' stance of not allowing teams to "open the window" with Halladay, may also hurt negotiations.
Who knows what will happen, but I both Yankees and Red Sox fans should expect to be overwhelmed with Halladay stories between now and August 1st.

Dollars CAN make sense!!!! how about this, jays can NEVER move Vernon Wells, except to the Yankees, 21 mil.a year until 2014, Roy is owed about 30 mil. next 2 years. Melky and or Swisher, Pena ,Romine. gives Jays 2 outfielders, the SS they need , and the catcher they want.now they can trade Rios, and rebuild at no cost. Now we get rid of Matsui, Damon , pettite, at the end of this year, thats 30 mil plus.a year. Romine won't be a starter on the Yanks, Posada won't except he can't catch. he will torture us for several more years. we have cervelli, and a few other kids grooming, Montero won't be a catcher , he will be our Edgar Martinez. How's this for a defensive outfield wells CF, gardner LF. Ajax RF.If you average out the salary out their , bout 7mil each.21 ,22, mil.for the 3 total for the year. damon, matsui swisher , get 31 plus alone now..and boy do they make me ill.. can't catch can't throw.worst out field in the history of baseball.yes even worse than swaboda. Riccardi is all about business , this Is a business move. maybe a move will light a fire under wells, what do you guys think?? Hey Cashman are you reading this???/

Personally, I would want to touch Vernon Wells with that deal he has, but I think you are right that Toronto might do that and I think Montero is going to be an Edgar-type player.
