Not Good
Reports out of Toronto have Derek Jeter scratched from the lineup because of an oblique pull. Considering yesterday was an off-day and the fact that Jeter is one tough SOB, this leads me to believe he is hurting. We will never hear him say it, but it's not a good omen.

And now we know why we still have Pena on the 25 man roster - imagine a Yankee SS with decent range? Sure has been a while since that was the case ...

That's the thing Mitchell. I love the glove, love it! But, can the bat support that glove? I don't see how they figure that out without sending him to AAA and seeing what he does everyday. That being said, I want that glove in the majors now. What do you do?

I'd let Jete sit for a while until he's fully recovered, not just his typical 'put me in coach I'm ready to play' schtick and then he's lousy for an extended period of time, like last year when he got hit on the hand and toughed it out with lousy numbers and field work.
Once Jeter is back, then Cano gets a few days off and then maybe Pena goes back to Scranton to get more everyday play. I dunno, seems like a plan for Pena - but I'm not Girardi.

When do pitchers and catchers report next year? Coming up on the 1/4 mark and my fantasy team consisting of Manny, Hamilton, Aramis Ramirez, Youkilis, and Ankiel are doomed and the Yanks look lost, I'm going into hybernation mode.
