Another Brutal Loss

The Yankees showed some fight tonight, but they ultimately failed and did it in a way that makes it extra painful.  Thanks, just what I needed at 1AM.

A couple of things from tonight's game.  I am beginning to think the only way the Yankees go back to 12 pitchers is if they have to play a game with only 8 fielders.  Considering the injuries they have suffered so far this year, it could happen soon. Either way, another night with way too short a bench.

Edwar Ramirez isn't helping right now.  Why do they keep him in the majors?

Aceves made a mistake, but generally pitched pretty well.  He gave the Yankees the length they needed in this game.  Hopefully, they keep him around the rest of the year.

Now for some sleep.

Yep, here are my early morning observations on last night's game.

Hughes' breaking stuff wasn't breaking last night so he had to "get by" - and got hit hard as a result. Kid was shaking off lots of signs.

Tex finally looks like a contributor - just in time for Posada to possibly go down for an interval - ugh! In addition to pitching, can Swisher catch?

Ramirez? Agreed. If you can't or are afraid to throw strikes, you can't play in the bigs.

I didn't catch why Berroa was at 3B and not Pena ???

Mitchell- The answer I heard and it is sure to bring a smile to your face-

They wanted his offense with a lefty on the mound.

LOL. Oh sure, I can understand that completely. You always go with your hot bat. Right now, he's just crushing the ball with identical numbers for BA, OBP and SLG, .167 I suspect the REAL reason they played him was because they wanted him to wear his magic shirt and snare some hot grounders. That won't work, of course, as it's a Dodger's shirt that's the magic one.

(shaking my head and grinning)

Thanks.
