Lowrie Shelved
Jed Lowrie was put on the DL today with a sore left wrist, the same wrist that caused him trouble last year. This move came out of no where and is a major disappointment. Gil Velasquez was called up to replace Lowrie.
Now this means I can't wait for Julio Lugo to make it back. I can't believe I just said that...

Andy? You think you got problems? CM Wang is throwing sinkers that don't.
By the way, I missed the Sox game last night - was there some reason that Beckett and Abreu had their little altercation? Someone say something or do something that the papers (ahem) somehow failed to include in their typical unbiased manner? ;-)
Inquiring minds want to know please ...

Mitchell,
I don't think there was any history between the two. Watching the Red Sox feed, they couldn't come up with anything either.
I think Beckett is a hot head and whether or not he meant to throw at Abreu's head (6 game suspension), he didn't helps things by starting to jaw with him.
Beckett does that all the time. I am drawing a blank on who it was with, but 2 seasons ago, he started giving it to an opponent and the benches emptied. He just loses his cool and then pitches like crap. He is starting to annoy me.
I also think the recent events for the Angels caused them to keep the confrontation going (4 ejections for them), but otherwise, no pre-existing conflict between Beckett and Abreu.
