Andy Says No?

According to the Daily News, Andy Pettitte has rejected the Yankees offer of $10 million.

It's hard to see how this gets resolved in a positive way.  Pettitte obviously feels like he is worth more than that and I can't fault the Yankees for disagreeing.  I also think the article makes an excellent point about the timing of Pettitte's deal last year and his HGH admission.  (well first admission)

And Pete Abraham is reporting that Coke is being told to prepare himself as a starter. Looks like it's got to be Andy that "blinks" in this standoff.

Coke, Aceves, Kennedy, Hughes, Joba. That's gotta total up to 400 innings, no? Only problem I see is the 25 player limit - LOL.

Well, they have to get them through at least the trade deadline. As Peter previously noted, there might be some real deals to be made by then due to the squeeze of the economy. I personally think Aceves looked up to the task of being at least a 5th starter. Plus his name starts with ACE hehe

Well I think four of them are already on the roster. Figure a rotation of CC, AJ, Wang, Joba and Hughes and a bullpen of Mo, Marte, Veras, Bruney, Coke and Aceves as the long guy (Yes, I am hoping for six guys max in the pen) Kennedy starts in AAA.

I wouldn't mind that arrangement at all.
