The Knicks Help The Yankees?

Yes, I am sad to report that I root for the Knicks, as thankless an endeavor as there has been in sports recently.  But, you can't change teams, as much as they continually drive you nuts.  So, Friday was a pretty good day for me as the Knicks finally showed they have a clue and made some moves that may result in LeBron James showing up in New York in 2010.

Now comes word that the Knicks' moves may help the Yankees land CC Sabathia. Could the Knicks finally have done something right and helped another New York team in the process?  It seems impossible, but maybe.

I'm not buying on this theory.

a) no guarantee Lebron goes to NY to play (would you?, no offense, team has been a train wreck since Bernard tore his knee up - sorry, finals appearance in non Jordan years nonwithstanding)

b) I don't believe, never have, that CC wants anything to do with NY or Boston.

c) going somewhere because a friend in a different sport might someday play there...wow, stretch it a bit further Buster O...must have been a slow day on the old pc, somebody give the guy something to write about, how about a free agent signing or two for real?

the 1st reply posted above was me, not sure why it didn't register, used TypeKey from home, should have been fine, lol

Bl- Nice Bernard King reference, that was a brutal injury to take, especially after the '84 playoffs when he almost took them past Boston. I still think CC is like all of these athletes, the money will be the deciding factor. Maybe he will be different, but how many times have we hear an athlete claim it isn't about the money only to find out it really is?

he seems different in that he might "settle" for $120M vs the $140 or more the Yankees have offered or will offer...

How will he and his family survive?

"settle" comment was me again, TypeKey doesn't work for me anymore

Sorry BL, not sure what the problem with TypeKey is.

latest rumor is that the Angels may throw an offer at CC for same dollars and duration as Yankees. If that happens, then either Hal opens the wallet even wider (hope not) or Cashman moves on to plan B involving Andy and one of the remaining FAs. Sure would be nice if Peavey could be moved but I'm sure the player package costs would be pretty steep - cause if it were just money, Peavey would be a Yankee yesterday.

I saw that Mitchell, I am just not sure I buy it. The Angels have very good pitching, its their offense that needs help. I think this might be a ploy to get Tex back to the negotiating table.

Then again, if it is real I bet the Yankees go up to $160 million
