I Say Start Him Again

I have a feeling I am in the minority here, but I say give Kennedy another start.  I know the #'a weren't pretty today, but he attacked the Rays hitters and got beat.  That is a different approach than we have seen and I think it merits another try.  Plus, who else are you going to trot out there right now?

What I would do is skip his next turn (Yankees are off Monday) and pitch him next Saturday against the Mariners.  Let's face it, they are not a good offensive club and I think Kennedy could do well against them.

That's what I think, how about you?

I think if our offense keep scoring 1-2 runs a game, it doesn't matter who we send out on the hill, we're not going to do well.

As you say, we might as well try him again -- it's not like we have a lot of options. I thought that they should have waited until he had three consecutive quality starts at AAA before bringing him back up, to give him time to rebuild some confidence and get into a bit of a groove. One start is not enough. But what's done is done.

Ditto. We're in the AL East basement already, we might as well see if we have anything in him.

As for tonight, how sweet would it be to see Rasner beat Santana?

Peter,

I think I have the solution to Kennedy's woes. We just need to start him against the Yankees for a few games. That way, he'll look like Cy Young -- just like all the other pitchers facing the Yankees these days.

I know I'm supposed to have faith, especially after 2005 and 2007, but man, this season is dreary right now.

Great point Greg, that would help the hitting a lot. As for the faith part, check out my latest post, maybe it will help.
