Peter- any idea about what, if any, compensation draft picks the yanks will get when A-Rod leaves?

My understanding of the new CBA means that assuming the Yankees offer A-Rod arbitration (a given) They would get two picks since he is a Type A Free Agent. One of those picks will be a sandwich pick at the end of the first round. The second is based on where the team that signs him is drafting. If they are in the top-half of the draft, the Yankees get their 2nd rounder. If they are in the bottom, the Yankees get that actual pick.

Peter, didn't the new CBA eliminate comp picks? I thought at some point they were no longer going to have those.

Andy-
The way I read the new CBA was that they eliminated compensation picks for Type B+C free agents, those are now a sandwich pick after Round 1 for B and totally gone for C. In addition, the narrowed the definition of Types A+B from the top 30/50% of a position to the top 20/40%. So you have less FA's who cost compensatory picks.
