No A-Rod Tonight

Tonight's lineup is as follows:

Cabrera CF
Jeter SS
Abreu RF
Posada C
Matsui LF
Giambi DH
Cano 2B
Betemit 3B
Phillips 1B

Should be interesting to see the pitching duel between Wang and Halliday.

All the interest went out the window when Torre kept ARod out of the line-up. That is too bad.

About last night's game in Toronto - the bennch clearing one.

It was great to see everyone rally around A-Rod, esp when Duncan (a beefy, exuberant boy if ever there were one) got right up close to Stairs to make sure that Stairs kept his hands at his sides.

Better still? Watching Rocket take himself out of the game in the 7th and truly expressing himself to the umpires on his way off the field to the showers. He still defines "teammate" to me.

We're getting hammered tonight - prob a bit of an adrenaline let down. Abreu seems a bit energized - nice to see some spirit from him for a change.

Thus concludes the easy portion of this seasons schedule. 3@Clev, 7 vs. Det, 3@LA, 3vs.Bos. 16 games of the next 19 are against the best 4 teams in MLB, in my opinion.

By playing .650% balls since May 30th the Yanks have given them a chance, by playing .715% ball for the last 35 games, I think they are making a serious statement.

Giambi is back. Cano, Melky, Matsui, Abreu are all rolling. The bench is much better with Duncan and Betemit.

48 games remaining but its the next 19 games that will really tell the story of whether this team has what it takes. It should be very interesting.
