Mark Feinsand is reporting that the Yankees have added Cody Eppley to the ALCS roster and dropped Nunez. This leads me to a few conclusions.
1- Jeter’s foot is just fine. I know Nix is the primary backup, but they wouldn’t make this move if they were worried about Jeter’s foot.
2- The Yankees are strongly considering TBA as their Game 2 starter. Why do you need 12 arms in the, unless you have five of them in the running to start?
We shall see.

Pretending, for a moment, that this is a democracy where the vote results rule – I vote Phelps as starter for Game 2. Yeah, I’ve been biased about the kid for a while now and he’s only appeared sporadically and I don’t know if he’s ready for the pressure of an ALCS start, but hey, in a democracy, even irrational dreamers get to vote.

I totally agree. I would have started Phelps or Lowe in Game 2 because Kuroda has never pitched on three-days rest. Furthermore, his ERA is much, much better when he pitches on more than 4 days rest. Unfortunately, Girardi doesn’t agree.
I would have rolled the dice with Kuroda in Game 3 against Verlander on full rest and CC on full rest in Game 4. That would have also setup Kuroda to pitch Game 7 on regular rest with CC standing ready in the bullpen.
