This Is Pathetic

How desperate is Scott Boras? He is trying to pitch Johnny Damon to the Tigers by saying that he loves Steve Yzerman (for those of you who don’t know him, Yzerman was the captain of the Red Wings), loves the Red Wings and eats octopus at Greek restaurants. (The fans in Detroit always throw an octopus on the ice at the start of the playoffs)
Here’s a great quote from Boras:
"He told me, ‘If I can’t play for the Yankees, I want you to let the Tigers know I want to play for them. I can make that team a winner.’ "
But, despite his love of Detroit, Boras lets everyone know that he got four or five offers for Damon after it became clear the Yankees were no longer interested.
I guess this is what you have to do when camps are opening in the next 10 days.

Well, at least he’s not announcing something about a player opting out of a huge contract during the World Series …
The guy is shameless … but like BL said. he can be a good agent for some players – but Boras screwed the pooch with the way he’s handled Damon.

Poor Johnny… desperation is a stinky cologne…

For the amount of times that Boras gives teams a ride, the Yanks have stuck it to him with Damon. Made him look like a plonker.

To bad they desided to stick it to Boras over Damon and $10-15 mil and not A-Rod and $100-$150 mil.
Personally, I have no doubt that guys like Boras knew about the steroids in the game just like the owners did. Cashman’s stand against Boras in this instance is admirable, (as the extra home run incentives that were thrown into A-Rod’s most recent contract seem completely ridiculous now) but it also seems like a case of too little to late.
Go Nick Johnson!!

And now for a truly weird thought seemingly from the Twilight Zone: Lohud is reporting (from someone else I’m sure) that the Royals are considering giving Krazy Kyle a shot at starting.
OK, yeah, I guess, why not? He’s stuff is incredible, at times. And he’s reportedly added another pitch to his arsenal and he now believes in pitching instead of throwing. And he’s not working out too well in any other role, so I guess it hurts nothing to try but still … that thought is just WEIRD

Steve- Amen
Mitchell- Yeah Twilight Zone is right. He bombed in the minors doing it and with the Cubs, but at this point what do the Royals have to lose?
